Greg Jackson Joins “Master-Class”
Junior shooter is the youngest Master-class shooter in Tennessee!
Many skeet and sporting clay competitors in Tennessee know 16 year-old Greg Jackson as a quiet and polite young man. While Greg rarely talks about his accomplishments, he just achieved a milestone in the discipline of sporting clays.
Greg Jackson is Tennessee’s newest NSCA “master-class” shooter. Also, he is the youngest master shooter in the state. In fact, Greg is Tennessee’s only Junior shooting in master-class.
A “straight-A” honor student, Greg has had to balance his tournament shooting with school.

“My parents have been very supportive, but school definitely limits my travel to many of the top tournaments,” said Greg. “I feel like the Tennessee Clay Target Complex is a second home. Everyone there has been super, especially my shooting coach, Terry Hetrick.”
Master is the NSCA’s highest classification for shooters and recent rule changes have made it even more difficult to earn the rank. NSCA records reveal only 13 shooters in the entire state are presently classed in Master-class!
While Greg enjoys the local shoots, Greg earned his Master ranking the hard way... in top competition. He won punches competing in large competitions with the best shooters in the nation.
Greg began the 2004 season in A-class. A very strong performance at the Kruger Cup advanced him to AA-class. Yet another excellent performance at the US Open advanced him into Master-class.
Greg has many interests, other than shooting including aviation. A member of his high school aviation club, Greg soloed a plane on his 16th birthday and will soon earn his private pilot license on his 17th birthday.
“I have two prized processions, my K-80 and my Winston fly rod,” said Greg. “I am happiest when I am fly fishing small streams or flying a plane solo across the countryside. It is my time to be alone.”
Congratulations Greg for a job well done!
