Youth Wingshooting Clinic, February 5

On February 5th approximately 80 boys and girls between the ages of 10 - 15 were treated to a special Youth Wing Shooting Clinic. Professional gun instructors were in attendance to demonstrate the safe and proper way to handle shotguns, and to show how exciting the shooting sports are. Shotguns to use during the event, shells, clay targets and hearing and eye protection were available free to the youth participants. An excellent lunch of burgers, fruit, chips and drinks was also provided for the participants and volunteers.

Films of the clinic will be featured on the Bill Hall Outdoor Show - Sunday February 13th at 11:00 pm.

The following club members donated their time for this worthwhile event: Paul McCardle, Jay Siegrest, Eddie Lunn, John Wall, Larry Patterson, Craig Embretson, Dr. Martin Katahn, Alf Lester, Tandy Culpepper, Larry Summarell, and Brian Bellamy. Thank you for “giving something back” to our sports and our young shooters.

This was a free event hosted by the Tennessee Clay Target Complex and conducted through the joint efforts of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Quail Unlimited, Music City Quail Unlimited and Young Sportsman Foundation.

To participate a youth must be pre-registered by completing the application form (which was/is available at the Tennessee Clay Target Complex’s cashier’s counter). Another Youth Wingshooting Clinic will be held on February 12th for pre-registered participants.

The attached photographs were taken on the club deck as the introductory training was being conducted. Please notice there was standing room only. You may also note Larry Summarell, John Wall and other club members participating in the session.
