Clouds, drizzle, and cold wind didn’t deter competitors at the next-to-the-last shoot of the TSCA Winter Series. The venue was Flint Springs, near Cleveland, Tennessee. The host for the event was new club manager and shooting star, Bill McGuire.
Flint Springs is a top facility in the making. First, it is blessed with excellent terrain. Second, it is located near large populations of people. Third, it is making significant investments such as all electric traps, Claymate automation and a new clubhouse. Finally, the owners recruited a world-class professional, Bill McGuire, to run the operations and provide instruction.
Ray Morris and Mike Redmond easily handled the course and adverse weather. Each earned a score of 92, with Mike winning HOA and Ray winning AA1. Good work, Mike and Ray!
The award for “best performance” of the shoot may have to go to Travis Carol, a sub-junior. Young Travis won C-class with an excellent score of 80. Many adult shooters in higher classes would have been happy to shoot an 80, including Travis’s father, Dan!
Sub-juniors and juniors are the future of the sport. Those who excel do so not because of young eyes and reflexes. Rather, they must overcome their lack of experience with hard work and dedication.
Travis Carol is a good example. He shoots to win. Travis receives the best instruction and puts in many hours of practice. Go to top shoots like the U.S. Open or the Nationals. You will see Travis, with his father, competing with the best!
The final shoot in the winter series will be April 9th at the Tennessee Clay Target Complex. It will be a great finale to a great series. Meanwhile, email Rhonda and request--- no more Barbeque! |
