January Registered Trap Shoot - January 15 and 16, 2005
What a difference a day can make in the weather in January. Doesn’t this sound like the opening of the December shoot report? Well the difference is that in December at least one day was relatively nice and calm. This month it was cold and windy on Saturday and by Sunday it was bitterly cold, very windy with snow flurries. However, there were several shooters in attendance both days. The scores were low - reflecting the weather. We appreciate every shooter, volunteer and staff member who participated and helped make this event a success.
Dave and Debi Cates from Indiana brought their friends the Wallace’s to see our gun club and the fair city of Nashville. Also, Mr. and Mrs Geoffrey Corn of Indiana attended both days. The following Kentucky shooters attended: J. Davidson, W. Ogles, V. Anderson, K. Kauffman and K. (Tank) Polson.
One special note. About John Dobbs (Chief Fuzzy Face), he is our only club member from Powell, Tennessee (over by Knoxville). You may recognize John and his full beard since he spends about as much time shooting and volunteering at TCTC as most of us from middle TN. John and his wife Carolyn spend many days each year in their fifth wheel camper at TCTC either working at special events or participating in registered Trap shoots. John and Carolyn are both retired from the public school system. They are active with grandchildren, their local gun club, the Okoboji Indians, hunting and supporting our club. John, we thank you for all of your help and for driving that long trip to shoot with us. You and Carolyn are special people.
Our next scheduled ATA Registered Trap Shoot will be February 19 and 20, 2005. Please plan to attend.
We are sad to report that we have just received information that one of our frequent shoot participants and friend, Don Adams, passed away. Don spent a great deal of his time in Paris, TN - where he had a summer home and family members. Our sympathy is extended to Don’s Family.
