December Registered Trap Shoot

December 18 and 19, 2004

What a difference a day can make in the weather in December. Saturday was beautiful with temperatures around 50 and bright sun with gusting variable winds. Sunday we were greeted with bone chilling cold, ugly clouds, snow flurries and high winds from the north. Notice the attached pictures and see the differences.

Some changes have been made to our programs for the winter months of January, February and March. Targets will be $17.00/100 (plus fees) for these winter shoots. We will use four classes for singles (A, B, C & D). We will add overall “Ironman” trophies for the three high guns based on your top 300 scores out of the 600 targets available in each discipline (singles, handicaps and doubles) during these three tournaments. Remember you must shoot at least 300 in a discipline to be eligible for the Ironman trophy(s).

SATURDAY December 18, 2004:

Dave Cates and Al Gamblin made their monthly trek from Indiana to attend our shoot. It has been a rare occasion when these two good friends have missed a registered Trap or charity fund raiser shoot at TCTC. Dave and his wife Debi have donated all of the trophies for our April, 2005 Trap shoot. We will tell you more about that as the time approaches. However, the theme for the April shoot will be something like “It’s Spring Time to Shoot”.

Kentucky father and son shooters, William and John Ogles had a very successful trip to Tennessee. Both won trophies but son John won two and dad only won one (I warned dad, I might put this fact on the web site). Tennessee junior SCTP shooter, Austin Hendrick also won two trophies. Congratulations to both of these young shooters. Complete winners list is attached.

SUNDAY December 19, 2004:

Everyone who participated on Sunday wins our “Tough Man - Snow Bird” award. A special “thank you” to Sunday’s shooters: Bob Pierce, Brandon Powers, Vernon Anderson, Jerry Bennett II, and Don Adams. These five people shot 1,200 targets in less than ideal weather conditions. Vernon Anderson shot his personal best doubles score (93) on Sunday in 30 mile per hour winds with blowing snow squalls.

Please plan to attend our next registered shoot - January 15 and 16, 2005
